Riverside Kawa Pan Asian Restaurant

“We visited this riverside restaurant for a date night using a 50% off voucher. The location itself was lovely, but unfortunately the experience didn’t quite live up to expectations. Despite being nearly empty, with only one other couple nearby, several tables around us remained uncleared, which was off-putting. The staff were friendly and seated us quickly, though our drinks didn’t seem to be the diet versions we asked for, and one starter was forgotten and only brought out after the main course. The food was just okay. The steak, advertised as a 250g ribeye, appeared to be a thin flank steak and was overcooked compared to the medium rare I’d requested. The accompanying rice was slightly burnt, though still edible. The salmon was fine, and the delayed starter was actually quite nice. Overall, even with the discount, the meal didn’t feel worth the price. The state of the toilets was particularly disappointing, and though I wouldn’t return myself, even with another offer, I do think the place has potential. I wish them well going forward.”

“First time visiting newly opened Kawagishi restaurant by the river. From the same owners as the very popular local Sushi Hand Friends. Glad to report food is just as good, even better because you can sit down and enjoy the friendly, family welcoming atmosphere. We will definitely be returning as they have earned our #1 spot for sushi in Greenwich.”

“Beautiful food in a great location looking over the Thames and Canary Wharf. Chef Noel is always welcoming and creates fresh, tasty dishes that are elegant but unpretentious. Enjoy the relaxed atmosphere whilst it’s still relatively unknown.”

The restaurant was very clean and spacious, the food was absolutely delicious and the service was brilliant - the staff are so attentive and friendly. Not only were the prices really good but the portion size is quite generous too, in my opinion. I was so full! Amazing location as well, as you’re right by the river; it really is a local gem. I can’t wait to come back again!”
